Nov. 20, 2012

Freshman sensation Celia Ripple earned the Wauwatosa East MVP Award at last week's team banquet.

Ripple led the Red Raiders all season long and qualified for the state tournament in her first season.

Other award winners were Madyson Cossentino earning the Most Improved Award and Jenna Moerchen earning the Coaches Award.

The Red Raiders earned four Greater Metro Conference Scholar-Athlete Awards: Meg Dewire, Taylor Ondracek, Sami Reimer and Hannah Wallenkamp.

Tosa East will be losing five key athletes to graduation: Margie Van Meter, Dewire, Ondracek, Reimer and Hannah Wallenkamp

"This year we asked people to step up and they responded," coach Russ Weigl said. "We will have 14 returning letter winners to work with next year."
