Wauwatosa East fundraiser set for Saturday

The Wauwatosa East Athletic Booster Club will host its winter fundraiser from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the Wauwatosa Women's Club, 1626 N. Wauwatosa Ave.

Advance registration is $30 per person or $50 per couple. Registration at the door is $35 per person.

Admission includes all drinks, appetizers, music and a keepsake glass. There will be a silent auction and raffle.

Tosa West grad Cera earns college soccer honor

Wauwatosa West graduate Becky Cera, a senior on the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer team, was named to the NCAA Division III Women's All-North Region Team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Cera earned second-team honors for the all-region team. She holds the record for most assists in a season (10) and for career assists (28). She helped the team to an 11-8-1 season and earned WIAC all-conference honors.

Tosa Kickers accepting spring applications

The Tosa Kickers Soccer Club is accepting applications for the 2010 spring soccer program, open to boys and girls ages 5 to 18.

Registration can be completed online at mksc.org. For paper registration or additional information, e-mail the club at execdir@tosakickers.com. The Tosa Kickers Web site, tosakickers.com, has information on the club's activities.

The season will begin the week of April 11 and run through the first week of June. The U6 league practices and plays its games on Saturdays. Other age groups practice twice per week and play on Saturday or Sunday afternoons.

North Shore spikers win third championship

The North Shore Milwaukee Volleyball Club Boys 17 team won its third tournament championship Feb. 14 in Waukegan, Ill.

Wauwatosa East's Ryan Hoffland is a member of the team.

The team has won the Adversity/Balboa Bay Invite, Molten Wisconsin Boys Festival and the Great Lakes Boys Festival within the last month.

Prior to winning these tournaments, they qualified for the USAV Junior National Championships by placing second in the Gateway Boys Festival.
