The Wild United dropped a 7-2 decision to Kenosha at the Pleasant Prairie IcePlex on Jan. 13 before playing well but losing a tough 4-3 decision to Manitowoc Lincoln at the Pettit Ice Center on Friday.
The Wild United had a "first" in that loss when Kadin Pasley scored with assists by Ben Christie and Ted Kraus for a 1-0 lead. It was the Wild United's first lead of the year.
Kenosha scored late in the first period to tie the game at 1-1, before taking the lead by scoring two goals in the second period.
"In the third period we were plagued with penalties and they scored four more goals on power plays, bringing the game to 7-1," said Wild United coach Pete Koszarek.
Ryan Regeth, who was off for six weeks after breaking his collar bone, scored the final goal, his first of the year. Colin Raupp assisted on the play.
Kenosha outshot the Wild, 75-13.
The Wild United scored first against the Ships on a goal by Regeth, with an assist from Christie, but Lincoln countered with a goal to tie the score. Stephen Dahl then scored an unassisted goal to give his team the lead after the first period, 2-1.
"For the first time this season, we were up at the end of the first period," Koszarek said. "We scored again to bring our lead to 3-1 and held Manitowoc off for most of the second period before they scored twice to tie the game at 3-3 and eventually win it."
With the losses, the Wild United dropped to 0-11-0.
