Three Tosa kickers in Saturday's all-star game

Jan. 20, 2010 | 0 comments

Three Wauwatosa soccer players will take part in the 2010 High School Senior All-Star Game sponsored by NOW Newspapers and the Milwaukee Wave on Saturday.

The second annual all-star game between the East and the West squads, made up of some of the best high school seniors in the area, will follow the 6 p.m. Wave game against the Baltimore Blast at the U.S. Cellular Center.

Sam Krenzien of Wauwatosa West and Marty Schoen and Jordan Stein of Wauwatosa East will represent the local teams on the East squad.

Krenzien, a co-captain on this year's Trojans squad and MVP, has agreed to a scholarship to play next year at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. He was named first-team All-State by the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association and first-team All-Area by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel this year. He finished the year with 13 goals and 17 assists.

"He set the tone with his work ethic and dedication to our team having success this summer," Tosa West coach Mike Parulski said. "The best part is that he was a true leader and got others in the program to raise their games to the next level, and by the end of the season we could match up with the best of the best."

Stein was a first-team Greater Metro Conference player, who scored five goals and handed out five assists on the season, while Schoen was a second-team All-GMC choice, who had 18 goals and three assists.

"Jordan was a four-year varsity starter and the best leader I ever coached," Tosa East coach Eric Dale said. "He deserves this. I'm excited for him.

"Marty was a prolific goal-scorer - he had about 34 career goals. Without him offensively this year, we would have had to play a tough defense."
