Three Tosa kickers honored

Jan. 6, 2010 | 0 comments

Three high school soccer players from Wauwatosa have been invited to participate in the second annual NOW Newspapers Senior All-Star Soccer Game that will feature the top 30 senior boys players from metro Milwaukee.

Midfielder Jordan Stein and forward Marty Schoen of Wauwatosa East, and midfielder Sam Krenzien of Wauwatosa West were selected to the honors team by the sports staff of NOW Newspapers.

The game will be played Jan. 23, immediately following the Milwaukee Wave game against the Baltimore Blast at the U.S. Cellular Arena. Kickoff of the Wave game is at 6 p.m.

The high school all-stars will be recognized on the field between the third and fourth quarters, and will split into East and West squads for a 60-minute game that will be coached by Wave representatives. The Wauwatosa players will be part of the East squad.

"We're excited to continue the NOW Newspapers Senior Soccer All-Star Game," said Matt Schroeder, vice president of communications for the Wave. "A big part of the Wave's community outreach is connected to player development, through our camps and the coaching efforts of our players. It's a thrill for us to bring this top talent to the U.S. Cellular Arena."
