Donovan named Warhawks' player of the week

Former Wauwatosa East star quarterback Jeff Donovan helped lead the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater to a 40-7 victory over UW-Oshkosh on Saturday and was named the Warhawks Offensive Player of the Week.

Donovan threw for 229 yards, one touchdown, one interception, and went 29-33 on the day. Donovan has completed 74 percent of his passes, which leads the conference.

The Warhawks, with Donovan at the helm, also lead the conference in passing offense, scoring offense, rushing offense and total offense.

Tosa West's Zeisse on Pointers soccer team

Former Wauwatosa West student-athlete Jessica Zeisse is a member of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point women's soccer team.

Zeisse, a 5 foot, 9 inch freshman, is a midfielder for the Pointers. She will wear uniform No. 10.

WSCA sets Feb. 20 for Hall of Fame banquet

The second annual Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held Feb. 20 at the Bavarian Inn starting at 5 p.m.

This year's inductees include Ron Holzhueter, Bob Gansler, Bill Reddan and Jim Launder, all are among the most successful coaches in the state's history.Tickets can be purchased for $35 for WSCA members and $45 for non-members.
