Medical College awards professor Eminent Scholar
The Medical College of Wisconsin has named William Campbell, Ph.D., professor and chair of the department of pharmacology and toxicology, an Eminent Scholar at MCW.
The Eminent Scholar program recognizes and rewards excellence in academic and scholarly achievement that ordinarily would be funded from an endowed chair. MCW names one Eminent Scholar every year, and the term is five years.
Selzer-Ornst hires two new managers
Selzer-Ornst Co. of Wauwatosa welcomes Misty Baldewicz to the firm as a project manager and estimator. She comes to Selzer-Ornst Co. with over eight years of experience in commercial design, estimating, and project management. She holds a degree in design from Gateway Technical College.
The company also welcomes Zachary Singer as a junior project manager and estimator. He comes to Selzer-Ornst Co. with several years of experience in commercial design, estimating, and project management. He holds a degree in building construction management from UW-Platteville.
Cardinal Stritch elects new board members
The Cardinal Stritch University Board of Trustees recently elected four new members whose terms will run through 2017: Stritch alumna Sister Nancy Kazik, '70, OSF, of Albuquerque, N.M.; Sensient Technologies' Stephen Rolfs of Whitefish Bay; We Energies' Thelma Sias of Milwaukee; and retired health care and education expert Sister M. Clarette Stryzewski, CSSF, of Milwaukee.
Common Ground Healthcare fills top ranks
Common Ground Healthcare Cooperative of Brookfield has filled out its executive team, hiring a new chief operating officer, chief strategy officer and naming its chief financial officer in the past two months. In June, Cathy Mahaffey was named CEO after having previously served as the nonprofit insurer's COO. The new COO, Shelly Johnson, has 20 years experience in health care and health insurance organizations. CFO Rob Lundeen has spent 30 years working for large insurers and hospitals. Melissa Duffy, recently named shief strategy officer, has spent her career on the purchaser side to help improve health care and coverage for individuals and employers.
The startup health insurance company began covering residents of 19 eastern Wisconsin counties at the beginning of this year.
Children's Hospital's foundation hires president
Meg Brzyski Nelson has been named chief development officer and president of the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin Foundation. In her role, Nelson will be responsible for leading Children's Hospital's fundraising efforts hrough strategic plan development, collaborative partnerships and donor cultivation.
Most recently, Nelson served as associate vice president of university advancement for Marquette University.
