Information taken from reports filed by the Wauwatosa Police Department
1A 19-year-old man was arrested for strong arm robbery after he snatched his girlfriend's purse in the Mayfair parking lot, 2500 N. Mayfair Road, at 6:44 p.m. Dec. 4. They had been shopping but left because he was in a bad mood and got physical, grabbing her wrist. In the car, he grabbed her by the neck. She got out of the car with intentions of going to the bus stop, but he told her she had to take all the items she purchased. The girlfriend, four-months pregnant, had trouble unloading the items. He then asked for gas money. When she refused, he grabbed her purse pulling hard enough to break the strap and leave an abrasion on her neck.
2Pry marks were left on doors at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1717 Church St., between noon Nov. 27 and 2 p.m. Dec. 2. No entry was made to the building.
3Pry marks were left on a door First Congregational Church, 1511 Church St., between 7:30 p.m. Nov. 29 and 6:15 a.m. Nov. 30.
4A purse valued at $150 was taken from an unlocked home in the 12300 block of Dearbourn Avenue between 3 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Nov. 30.
5Four televisions, cash, a DVD player and liquor were taken from a home in the 2700 block of North 75th Street prior to 3 p.m. Dec. 2. Loss is estimated at $2,166. A window had been broken to gain entry.
6Three televisions were taken from a home in the 11100 block of West Potter Road between 4 p.m. Dec. 2 and 3 p.m. Dec. 4. Loss is estimated at $1,700. A window had been broken and a door was left open.
7A violin valued at $750 was taken from an unlocked vehicle in the 7400 block of West Wright Street between 8 p.m. Nov. 27 and 7:45 a.m. Nov. 28.
8Two gym bags and a broken cell phone were taken from a van at Wisconsin Heart Hospital, 10000 W. Blue Mound Road, between 10:15 and 11:15 a.m. Nov. 28. Loss is estimated at $120. A window had been broken.
9Two men took Blu-ray players from Blockbuster, 6102 W. North Ave., and fled in a vehicle at 12:15 p.m. Nov. 28.
10A leather computer bag and a GPS unit were taken from a vehicle in the 4500 block of North 109th Street between 8 p.m. Nov. 28 and 7 a.m. Nov. 29. Loss is estimated at $1,866.
11Two Milwaukee girls, ages 16 and 17, were arrested for retail theft at Macy's at Mayfair at 12:49 p.m. Nov. 29. They were seen stacking expensive clothing and grabbing winter hats as they headed to the exit. There, one spoke on a cell phone while looking out the doors to the parking lot. As soon as a vehicle pulled up, the girls ran out of the store and into the car. The vehicle was stopped at 58th and Burleigh streets, and the merchandise and a loaded handgun were found inside. The driver, a 20-year-old Milwaukee man, had a lengthy criminal record, including a conviction for carrying a concealed weapon. He was arrested on a warrant and for retail theft.
12A bag containing 20 knit winter hats was taken from an unlocked vehicle at the Radisson Hotel, 2303 N. Mayfair Road, at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 29. Loss is estimated at $220.
13An employee's credit cards and driver's license were taken while she worked at Froedtert Hospital, 9200 W. Wisconsin Ave., and used to make fraudulent charges totaling $633. The cards were found in bushes in the 3800 block of North 124th Street by a construction worker at 1:16 p.m. Nov. 30.
14A man concealed a laptop computer valued at $637 under his clothing and walked out of the Apple Store at Mayfair at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 30.
15Coins and a combination lock, valued at $115, were taken from the Cool Shades kiosk at Mayfair at 7:43 p.m. Nov. 30.
16A late model SUV valued at $35,000 was reported taken from the 2400 block of North Harding Boulevard at 7:30 a.m. Dec. 1 and recovered in Milwaukee at 12:47 p.m. Dec. 1. A wallet and keys that had been inside were missing. The vehicle's owner told police that he had moved the vehicle from his driveway to the street the evening before and that he had gotten into the "bad habit" of leaving it unlocked with keys inside.
17A 35-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for retail theft after she put items valued at $190 into her purse at The Home Depot, 4100 N. 124th St., at 2:51 p.m. Dec. 1. She said an injury had prevented her from working so she planned to sell the stolen items.
18A purse valued at $630 was taken from a vehicle at Cardinal Fitness, 2885 N. Mayfair Road, prior to 6:19 p.m. Dec. 1. A window had been broken.
19Four boxes of candy bars were taken from Speedway, 6804 W. North Ave., about 11:30 a.m. Dec. 2. Loss is estimated at $150. A man was seen coming and going from the convenience store several times. Surveillance video shows he concealed the boxes in his coat.
20A 22-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for retail theft after she pocketed toiletries, gum and CDs, a value of $125, at Kmart, 3201 N. Mayfair Road, at 4:10 p.m. Dec. 2.
21A GPS unit valued at $150 was taken from a vehicle in the 5900 block of Wisconsin Avenue between 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. Dec. 2. A window had been broken.
22A purse valued at $150 was taken from a vehicle at the West Suburban YMCA, 2420 N. 124th St., at 11:25 a.m. Dec. 3.
23A 47-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for retail theft for taking jewelry and a jacket, a value of $275, from Macy's at 3:52 p.m. Dec. 3.
24A woman's wallet was taken from her purse while she sat at the bar at P.F. Chang's at Mayfair between 7:30 and 9:35 p.m. Dec. 3. A credit card was used to make more than $4,600 in fraudulent charges at area stores and gas stations.
25Two Milwaukee man, ages 29 and 48, were arrested for theft after they were found taking scrap metal valued between $2,500 and $3,000 from containers at Alro Specialty Metals, 3000 N. 114th St., at 11:46 p.m. Dec. 3. Both men had been arrested for theft in Menomonee Falls on Dec. 1.
26A 17-year-old Milwaukee girl was arrested for retail theft after she concealed jeans under her clothing at The Buckle in Mayfair at 2:40 p.m. Dec. 5.
The Police Department responded to 16 thefts of items valued at less than $100 in the past week.
27A 21-year-old man was arrested for battery using substantial force after he hit a security guard in the head at Sendik's, 8616 W. North Ave., at 1:27 p.m. Nov. 29. He was accompanied by a woman who put $70 worth of liquor into her purse. A guard grabbed the woman in the parking lot, causing her to fall. Then the man took a swing at the guard, causing a cut that required stitches. The man ran through yards and was stopped at Swan and Jackson Park boulevards. Meanwhile the woman took off in a car.
28A 14-year-old boy was arrested for battery after he punched a fellow resident of the Carmelite Home for Boys, 1214 Kavanaugh Place, and ran from the facility at 6:28 p.m. Nov. 29. He went to his mother's home and returned the next day. The same boy had been arrested for disorderly conduct earlier in the day because he threatened staff and took a swing at the principal.
29A 15-year-old boy was arrested for battery after he punched another resident of Carmelite Home for Boys in the eye at 1:05 p.m. Nov. 30. He had been bullying the other boy for several weeks, pouring drinks on him and knocking off his glasses. On this day, at lunch, he threw a hard plastic cup full of milk at the back of the victim's head. They exchanged words and a punch was thrown. The same boy was arrested for disorderly conduct at 2:27 p.m. Dec. 3 after he was found smoking a cigar in the facility and staff had to wrestle it away.
30A 28-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for battery after he punched a security guard in the face at Aurora Psychiatric, 1220 Dewey Ave., at 1:06 p.m. Dec. 2. He said he had problems with his mother and wanted to get away by going to jail. He walked into the security office and, unprovoked, punched an employee.
31A 22-year-old Wauwatosa woman was arrested for marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession after the car she was riding in was pulled over for following an ambulance too closely in the 8100 block of West Blue Mound Road at 8:48 p.m. Nov. 28. She had a marijuana pipe in her purse and 0.46 grams of the drug in her bra. She had two prior drug arrests on her record. She said she had purchased the pot an hour earlier and she and the driver, a 23-year-old Wauwatosa man, had already smoked most of it.
32A 31-year-old Wauwatosa woman was arrested for possession of 2.52 grams of marijuana in the 11200 block of West Blue Mound Road at 12:20 a.m. Nov. 30. Police saw the woman in a parked car with its lights on, her head bent forward, and went to investigate. The driver was texting and there was a strong marijuana odor when she rolled down her window. Two glass marijuana pipes were found in the vehicle.
33A 25-year-old Wauwatosa man was arrested for marijuana possession at Super 8 Motel, 115 N. Mayfair Road, after a strong odor was reported at 2:08 a.m. Dec. 3. The smell got stronger when a woman opened the door to a guest room. A marijuana pipe on the bed. A search turned up several pipes and 0.4 grams of the drug. A 17-year-old girl and a 19-year-old woman, both of Wauwatosa, were arrested for drug paraphernalia possession.
34A 36-year-old Wauwatosa man was arrested for drunken driving after police received reports of a reckless driver exiting Highway 45 at Mayfair Road at 12:09 a.m. Nov. 29. He said he was driving from Pewaukee and couldn't recall where the fresh damage to his vehicle had come from. His blood-alcohol content was 0.18.
35A 45-year-old Milwaukee woman was taken to Froedtert Hospital for evaluation after her vehicle was rear-ended at 86th Street and North Avenue at 12:44 p.m. Dec. 2. She was 34 weeks pregnant with twins. The driver of the striking vehicle, a 30-year-old Wauwatosa woman, was cited for following too closely.
36A door was kicked in at a pavilion at Jacobus Park, 6501 Hillside Lane, between 4:30 p.m. Nov. 27 and 12:58 p.m. Nov. 28. Damage is estimated at $400.
37A 24-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for vandalism at The Buckle at Mayfair at 2:54 p.m. Dec. 2. She damaged $486 worth of clothing by removing security tags.
38A home's storm door and window were broken in the 600 block of North 68th Street between 9 p.m. Dec. 2 and 9:45 a.m. Dec. 3. Damage is estimated at $150.
39A 17-year-old boy was arrested for disorderly conduct after he used profane language and demonstrated physically threatening behavior in the cafeteria at Wauwatosa West High School, 11400 W. Center St., at 12:25 p.m. Nov. 30. His parents refused to bring the boy in to discuss the matter, so a citation was mailed to the home.
40A 28-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct after he urinated at the bus stop at 60th Street and North Avenue at 8:16 p.m. Dec. 4.
Police responded to five incidents of domestic violence in the past week.
Wauwatosa Fire Department responded to 121 incidents including one cooking fire, seven vehicle accidents and 88 calls for emergency medical service in the past week.
