1Two bicycles were taken from an unlocked garage in the 4700 block of North 103rd Street between 10 a.m. June 21 and 8 a.m. June 27. Loss is estimated at $600.
2Two bicycles were taken from an unlocked garage in the 1900 block of Church Street prior to 8:09 a.m. June 28. Loss is estimated at $350. The bikes had been locked to a lawn chair, which was left damaged.
3Thirty Summerfest tickets, valued at $300, were taken from an office at Spinal Dynamics of Wisconsin, 2300 N. Mayfair Road, between May 7 and June 10.
4An 18-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for theft after he took items valued at more than $135 from the returned merchandise storeroom at Kmart, 3201 N. Mayfair Road, between 4 p.m. June 10 and 5 p.m. June 29. He was collecting customer "store points" that could later be cashed in for actual money. He put points on his card when a customer didn't have a card. He also took food items, a computer, a wallet and a video game. He sold parts from the broken computer online.
5A bicycle valued at $200 was taken from Wauwatosa East High School, 7500 Milwaukee Ave., between 9:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. June 21. The owner didn't have a lock so he had hidden it in the bushes.
6Camera equipment valued at $450 was taken from a rummage sale in the 1300 block of North 72nd Street between 10 a.m. and noon June 23.
7A root tiller valued at $5,000 was taken from a construction site in the 12300 block of Underwood Parkway between 4 p.m. June 23 and 6:30 a.m. June 25. It had been secured to a tree and weighed more than 700 pounds. A neighbor saw a man in a pickup truck with a trailer pull up and load an item.
8Two men took fans and a purse valued at $172 from Walgreens, 2275 N. Mayfair Road, at 12:52 p.m. June 24.
9Two potted plant arrangements were taken from outside Aurora Advanced Healthcare, 1055 N. Mayfair Road, between 9 a.m. June 25 and 10 a.m. June 26. They each weighed 130 pounds. Two smaller potted plants were taken from the same property between 9 p.m. June 26 and 7:30 a.m. June 27. Loss is estimated at $1,100.
10A woman put five bottles of liquor in her purse before leaving Sendik's, 8616 W. North Ave., at 7:42 p.m. June 25. Loss is estimated at more than $100.
11A GPS unit valued at $150 was taken from an unlocked vehicle in the 2500 block of North 91st Street between 4 p.m. June 26 and 12:30 p.m. June 27. Items valued at $220 were taken from two unlocked vehicles in the 9200 block of Wilson Boulevard between 9:30 p.m. June 26 and 6:15 a.m. June 27.
12A 17-year-old Milwaukee boy was arrested for retail theft because he pocketed sunglasses valued at $135 at Macy's at Mayfair, 2500 N. Mayfair Road, at 3:33 p.m. June 27.
13Four bikes, two helmets and three bike locks, a total value of $734, were taken from a yard in the 1300 block of North 60th Street between 4 p.m. June 27 and 4 p.m. June 28. The owner saw a rusty old bike with no brake in his yard and one bike missing. The next day, the rest of the items were gone.
14Two Eau Claire women, ages 20 and 24, were arrested for retail theft at Macy's after they filled purses with items valued at $342 at 1:34 p.m. June 28.
15A man took a tool valued at $200 and walked out of True Value Hardware, 1525 N. 68th St., at 1:35 p.m. June 28.
16A smartphone and charger, a total value of $215, were taken from a vehicle at the West Suburban YMCA, 2420 N. 124th St., between 5:15 and 7:08 p.m. June 28. A window had been broken.
17A wallet and backpacks containing electronics items, a total value of $1,505, were taken from two vehicles at Hoyt Park, 1800 Swan Blvd., between 12:10 and 1 p.m. June 29. A window was broken on one and a door lock damaged on the other vehicle. Stolen credit cards were used to make $327 in fraudulent charges at Milwaukee gas stations.
18Twenty-seven concrete blocks valued at $171 were taken from a yard in the 4700 block of North 100th Street between 5 p.m. June 29 and 8 a.m. June 30.
The Wauwatosa Police Department responded to 16 thefts of items valued at less than $100 in the past week.
19A 40-year-old Pewaukee man was arrested for battery after he slapped a woman in the parking lot of the Days Inn, 11811 W. Bluemound Road, at 12:54 a.m. July 1. He and his girlfriend, a 38-year-old Milwaukee woman, had checked out of the hotel and were getting into their separate cars. A group of people were playing a bean bag game in the parking lot and blocking their cars. The girlfriend and a woman playing the game started exchanging words and the man jumped out of his car to defend his girlfriend. He slapped the woman, and her father and husband came to her defense. A fight broke out and 911 was called. As the girlfriend pulled away, she swerved her vehicle into a stack of tailgate supplies and ran them over. The girlfriend was arrested for disorderly conduct.
20A 26-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for marijuana possession and prowling after he and a 19-year-old Milwaukee man - who also was arrested for prowling - pulled their truck into a driveway in the 11100 block of West Park Hill Avenue at 1:58 p.m. June 27. They got out and were looking around the yard when the homeowner came outside. They asked her if she had any metal they could have. Police caught up with their truck in the 11600 block of West Dearbourn Avenue, where they were loading computer monitors they had approval to take. The older man had a bag of marijuana weighing 0.42 grams in his pocket and was wanted on a Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office warrant.
21A 39-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving and driving after his license had been revoked after he was seen sitting in a vehicle outside a home in the 500 block of North 63rd Street at 9:04 p.m. June 26. The homeowner noticed the man had an open can of beer and was intoxicated. He said he was looking for an address that didn't exist. He drove down the block, turned around and parked on the wrong side of the street. He got out of the car and stumbled down the sidewalk. As an officer spoke to the homeowner, the man drove up and parked behind the squad car. He had a blood-alcohol content of 0.19 and was wanted on a warrant.
22A 14-year-old boy was taken to Children's Hospital for treatment of a laceration on his hip after he was struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle at Ravenswood Circle and Bluemound Road at 5:09 p.m. June 22. The driver, an 80-year-old man, was cited for failing to yield to a bicyclist.
23A 70-year-old man was taken to Froedtert Hospital after he blacked out behind the wheel of his Lincoln Town Car and struck an SUV and a "road closed" sign that was pushed into a Honda Pilot at Menomonee River Parkway and Hoyt Park Drive at 3:35 p.m. June 27. The Lincoln was driving on the wrong side of the parkway. The driver didn't recall striking any objects. No citations were issued.
24A motorcyclist was taken to Froedtert Hospital after he struck a Suburu Forester and was ejected from his bike and hit the pavement in front of the vehicle at Swan Boulevard and Beverly Place at 5:20 p.m. June 27. He was cited for unsafe passing and driving without insurance.
25A 65-year-old woman was taken to Froedtert Hospital because of a sore neck after her vehicle was struck at Glenview and Wisconsin avenues at 8:25 a.m. June 29. The owner of the striking vehicle, a 56-year-old man, said he saw a garbage truck stopped in the middle of the intersection and became distracted. He assumed there was a green light and proceeded into the intersection, where the collision occurred. He was cited for failing to stop for a red traffic signal.
26A lock was broken and a door pried open on the restroom at the Rotary Performance Pavilion at 68th and State streets in Hart Park between 4:30 and 9:45 p.m. June 29. Damage is estimated at $400.
27A 71-year-old Brookfield man was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs in the 2300 block of North 124th Street at 1:07 p.m. June 25. A driver reported a car had been swerving on Highway 45 and along North Avenue. The man had taken three pain medications within 24 hours. He said his family told him he swerved while driving after taking medication. Blood was drawn at a local hospital and a drug recognition expert was brought in to assess the man's condition.
28A woman dropped off a fraudulent prescription for oxycodone at Walgreens, 2275 N. Mayfair Road, at 10:54 p.m. June 26. She had successfully filled the same prescription at a Milwaukee store.
29A 15-year-old Wauwatosa boy was arrested for driving without a license and violating curfew after he took his mom's car while she was sleeping and drove to a girl's home in the 11600 block of Diane Drive at 12:09 a.m. June 28. He was already on probation.
30A 25-year-old Cudahy man was arrested for making phone calls that threatened physical harm to Anew Healthcare, 7425 Harwood Ave., at 8:10 a.m. June 28. He was calling on behalf of his aunt who had complained to him about the business. He left voicemails with racist language and threats.
31Two 11-year-old boys were leaving the Mayfair property at the 104th Street entrance after a man pulled up in a silver SUV and asked them where they were going at 11:12 a.m. June 29. When they didn't respond, he told them to "come on in." The boys ran away.
The Wauwatosa Police Department responded to three domestic violence incidents in the past week.
