Christ King School will host its annual Kindergarten Round-Up from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Dec. 5. This free event is open to all prospective K4 and K5 students and their parents. The Kradwell High School Decisions class continued the 15-year tradition of supporting the Milwaukee Hunger Task Force with a food drive. Kradwell students organized the drive and successfully collected 313 pounds of nonperishable food and $210 in donations.
Our Redeemer Lutheran
A team of Girls Scouts advanced to the state competition in the First Lego League Competition at Marquette High School Nov. 18. The team also won in robot design and was nominated for Grand Champion in the event sponsored by the Girl Scouts of America and business partners.
Senior kindergartners took a field trip to Rocket Baby Bakery, 6822 W. North Ave., Nov. 19. The students had an opportunity to practice vocabulary in accordance with a unit on neighborhoods.
St. John's Lutheran School
The second-grade class attended the program "Night Creatures" at the Milwaukee County Zoo on Nov. 16. The third-grade class learned about animals when they visited the Milwaukee Emergency Center for Animals and the Wisconsin Humane Society.
St. Joseph Academy
The school collected more than 120 boxes of food for the House of Peace Thanksgiving food drive. Eighth-graders from St. Joseph School decorated a tree in Cathedral Square that symbolized the school theme "Live Your Faith."
St. Jude the Apostle
Middle school students participated in High Spirit Day, where they focused on the development and enrichment of their bodies, minds and souls. Topics covered by guest speakers, including Vince Vitrano of WTMJ4 and other community and parent professionals, focused on healthy nutritional habits, exercise for life and the importance of making good moral choices.
First-graders took a field trip to the Milwaukee County Zoo to attend a program about turkeys and to learn about the various coverings, movements and environments of the animals at the zoo Nov. 19.
Operation Christmas Child boxes and nonperishable food items were brought to the weekly Mass Nov. 14, where they received a special blessing before making their way to families in need. Students donated canned goods to help feed local families through the Wauwatosa Community Food Pantry. They also contributed a small toy, school supply or candy that was packed and wrapped in a shoebox before being shipped to a child in need.
Wauwatosa East High
The band will play in the Chicago Christmas Parade on Nov. 22.
Wauwatosa West High
Students in economics and AP U.S. Government and Politics took a field trip to Chicago to visit the Federal Reserve, Mercantile Exchange and the Willis Tower on Nov. 19. The students learned about the functions and responsibilities of the Federal and Chicago reserve systems and U.S. monetary policy.
Junior kindergartners participated in a Friendship Feast on Nov. 19. The students shared a variety of finger foods and celebrated the importance of sharing and friendship.
