Early morning construction bothers reader
Issue: A reader wants to know what the noise ordinance is for businesses. According to the reader the new Alterra site starts construction at 7 a.m. most mornings, including Saturdays. She wants to know if this is allowed.
Status: Fred Knapp, building inspector, said construction is allowed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day but Sunday.
The city rarely receives complaints about these construction hours, and he has not received any complaints about this particular project, he said.
