Thanks to all who helped at Easter egg hunts
Public Forum:
On Saturday, April 11, the day before Easter Sunday, the children in our community enjoyed a sunny day with its promise of spring and hunted for Easter goodies and met the Easter Bunny. Two spirited community groups made this all possible: the Mayfair Rotary Club and the Village Business Improvement District.
Each year the children of Wauwatosa look forward to the annual Easter egg hunts. One Easter egg hunt takes place in the morning at Wisconsin Avenue Park and the other takes place in the afternoon in the Village of Wauwatosa. Many members of the Mayfair Rotary and the Village BID spend a lot of time and effort making these events enjoyable for the children. How fortunate we are that the members of our business community give so willingly of their free time.
This year, as in past years, the clients at the Tosa Community Food Pantry also benefited from the festivities. While the children were having a good time receiving their treats, they also were learning about giving to others. The large amount of food donated at both of this year's Easter egg hunts filled the shelves at the pantry. Because their neighbors have been so generous, the families and senior citizens who need help during our uncertain economy will find food available when they turn to the pantry.
On behalf of the clients and the volunteers at the Tosa Community Food Pantry, thank you to everyone who planned and carried out these events, and thank you to everyone who gave so generously to help others in the community.
