Man robbed of jacket at gunpoint

April 6, 2009

A 22-year-old man said he was held up at gunpoint by two men who took his coat in the 10400 block of Capitol Drive on Wednesday.

According to a Wauwatosa Police Department report:

The man was waiting for a bus when a vehicle stopped quickly in front of him and two men jumped out. They confronted him and put a semi-automatic handgun in his face, then ordered him to drop his jacket. After they picked it up, the got back in the vehicle and fled.

The victim said he was not sure why they wanted the coat as it was a simple department store variety $40 jacket. His cell phone and digital music player, valued at $300, were inside the coat.

He described one of the men as black, in his mid 20s, about 6 feet tall and 175 pounds. He had a light-colored mustache and razor bumps on his face. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and dirty work jeans.

The second man was black with a full beard, in his early 20s, about 5 feet 11 inches tall and 200 pounds. He was wearing a gray jacket with stitching in the shape of a diamond.

Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to call Wauwatosa Crime Stoppers at (414) 771-8672.
