to mark its 125th year
Bostik, leading global adhesive specialist for industrial manufacturing, construction and consumer markets, has announced plans to mark its 125 year anniversary. The firm was founded in 1889 in Massachusetts as the Boston Blacking Company, and numerous localevents and promotional activities are planned to celebrate the role that innovation has played in the company's development.
Bostik has major operations in Wauwatosa, at 11320 Watertown Plank Road, where it employs some 200 people after moving its American headquarters for nonwoven products here this year.
Bostik is a leading global adhesive specialist in industrial manufacturing, construction and consumer markets. For more than a century, it has been developing innovative adhesive solutions that are smarter and more adaptive to the forces that shape people's daily lives. Its products include, for example, the adhesives used in diapers.
North Shore Bank names head of retail banking
North Shore Bank of Brookfield has announced that Susan T. Doyle has been appointed senior vice president of retail banking. Doyle, who was previously a vice president, has 30 years of banking experience.
Doyle began her career at North Shore Bank and returned to it seven years ago. Inhernew role, her core responsibilities include the development of North Shore Bank's branch network, marketing and investment sales. She is currently involved in strategic development of branch transformation models.
Doyle is a Brookfield resident and is a board member and program committee chair of the Next Door Foundation, a non-profit, early education center in Milwaukee's Metcalfe Park neighborhood that serves more than 1,000 children and families. She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Alverno appoints head
of business school
Eileen Sherman has been appointed Dean of Alverno College's School of Business. In this role, she will provide leadership to the School of Business, partner with faculty to foster student achievement, and strengthen partnerships between the college and local businesses.
Sherman brings 21 years of experience in higher education to the college. She comes to Alverno from Cardinal Stritch University, where she served as an associate dean in the undergraduate school of their College of Business and Management and as an associate professor.
Sherman earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Worcester State College, and her Master of Business Administration degree from Boston University. She earned her Ph.D. from Marquette University in 1995.
Mount Mary names new health sciences dean
Mount Mary University President Eileen Schwalbach has announced that Cheryl Bailey has been appointed Dean of the School of Natural and Health Sciences. Bailey will oversee Mount Mary's natural and health sciences programs including biology, chemistry, mathematics, and undergraduate and graduate occupational therapy and dietetics.
Bailey will also continue her role as a principal investigator for a National Science Foundation funded project with the American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology working with biochemistry educators to assess and teach foundational concepts.
