1Two boys were robbed of their cellphones and house keys by men, each armed with a handgun, at Loyd and 71st streets at 12:10 a.m. Aug. 26. They told the two boys to be smooth, reached into their pockets, took the items, and left. The two said the robbers never pointed handguns at them and total loss is estimated at $555.
2A man robbed Pier 1 Imports, 2545 N. Mayfair Road, with a gun at 11:32 a.m. Aug. 30. The lone employee said she asked the suspect if she could help him and he very calmly told her that she could help by giving him all the money and gestured toward his hip like he might have a weapon. She gave him $100 from the register and he calmly walked out of the store.
3A home in the 4400 block of North 105th Street had its basement window broken and may have had items taken from it between 8 p.m. Aug. 24 and 7:41 p.m. Aug. 31. The homeowner had so many items in their home they were unable to say if anything was missing. The large items, which included a television and laptop computer, weren't taken.
4A motorcycle was stolen from a garage in the 2600 block of North 82nd Street between 10 a.m. Aug. 27 and 4 p.m. Aug. 29. The man's garage was broken into via an already-broken window and his motorcycle keys were accounted for. Total loss is estimated at $18,000.
5A home in the 2400 block of North 64th Street had its basement window smashed and jewelry, cigars, electronics, a laptop computer and a television were taken from it between 7:15 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Aug. 28. Total damage is estimated at $17,370.
6A locked room at the Radisson Hotel, 2303 N. Mayfair Road, was entered and electronics, clothes, jewelry, wallets and credit cards were taken from it at 6:56 p.m. Aug. 29. A cleaning employee said that two men entered the room while she was cleaning and acted like it was theirs, so she left them alone. The two were seen leaving the room with the goods, valued at $14,713. They fraudulently used the guests' credit cards.
7A home in the 1700 block of North 60th Street had its window screen cut and one of its floodlights partially unscrewed between 11 p.m. Aug. 29 and 9 a.m. Aug. 30. The screen was not cut all the way through and the house wasn't entered.
8Two people, a man and woman, stole 30 plants from Home Depot, 4100 N. 124th St., at 1:16 p.m. Aug. 21. The two were later called in by another flower vendor in Milwaukee, who said the two were trying to sell the plants from their car. Police are following up and total loss is estimated to be $330.
9A credit card was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 11000 block of West Walnut Road between 6 p.m. Aug. 27 and 10:30 a.m. Aug. 28. The card was found by the vehicle and had not been used fraudulently.
10Change valued at $2 was taken from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 2200 block of North 119th Street between 7 p.m. Aug. 27 and 8:30 a.m. Aug. 28. No damage was done to the vehicle.
11Change valued at $5 was taken from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 2200 block of North 119th Street between 10 p.m. Aug. 27 and 7 a.m. Aug. 28.
12A GPS valued at $60 was taken from a vehicle parked in the 2200 block of North 119th Street between 10 p.m. Aug. 27 and 8:45 a.m. Aug. 28.
13Change valued at $4 was taken from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 1600 block of North 121st Street between midnight and 8 a.m. Aug, 28. No damage was done to the vehicle.
14A vehicle parked in a driveway in the 4500 block of North 104th Street had its window smashed out and documents taken from it between 1 and 3:32 a.m. Aug. 28. Total loss is estimated at $210.
15A vehicle parked in the 4500 block of North 104th Street had its window smashed and a wallet stolen from it between 1 and 3:32 a.m. Aug. 28. A credit card from the wallet was used to make $155 in fraudulent purchases.
16A man called police after he noticed his credit card was used without his permission to make a $336 purchase at Footlocker at Mayfair, 2500 N. Mayfair Road, at 8:44 p.m. Aug. 28. Police are reviewing video surveillance.
17A bicycle valued at $200 was taken from Kmart, 3201 N. Mayfair Road, between 10 and 11:15 a.m. Aug. 29. Two young men rode the bicycle out of the emergency exit, sounding the alarm.
18A woman believed she had $20 taken from her purse while waiting for the bus at Harwood and Glenview avenues at 1:56 p.m. Aug. 29. She chased down the man she thought had taken her money, threw her purse on the ground and yelled at him. He denied taking the money but eventually got angry, snatched a $20 out of her purse and ran away.
19A worker called police after the laundry machine and dryer he was sent to collect change from were empty on Aug. 30. He said that he checks the machines once every two months and he estimates $160 was taken from them between June 30 and Aug. 30. Both coin boxes were cut open and the machine's water lines were cut.
20A woman was arrested for taking multiple items from Macy's at Mayfair, 2500 N. Mayfair Road, and for possession of a crack pipe at 11:37 a.m. Aug. 30. She brought her two nephews with to take the items. They were both wearing backpacks, which she used to take 41 items, a total value of $685. The woman is a felon with 21 total adult arrests including robbery, burglary, possession of cocaine, prostitution and felony retail theft.
· Police responded to at least two thefts of items valued at less than $100 this week.
21A woman was arrested in Waukesha at 12:11 p.m. Aug. 31 for beating a woman at Days Inn Hotel, 11811 W. Bluemound Road, at 5 a.m. Aug. 31. She had sent another woman to the hospital after assaulting her in the parking lot for flirting with a man. Police found the woman at her grandmother's home. When at the station, the woman said she fought because she was punched after she was walking from an argument with the first woman.
22Two men were arrested for marijuana possession after the vehicle they were in were pulled over for driving on suspended license plates in the 10700 block of West Burleigh Avenue and police found marijuana in the back seat at 8:32 p.m. Aug. 26. Police found 10 bags, resulting in a total of 6.41 grams.
23Two juveniles, a boy and a girl, were arrested for possession of marijuana after officers found them smoking in a car at Honey Creek Parkway and 72nd Street at 11:16 p.m. Aug. 28. Police found a hookah, a one-hitter pipe and 1.9 grams of marijuana in their vehicle.
24A man was arrested for drunken driving, first offense, after he crashed into a parked car and nearly rolled over his SUV at 74th and State streets at 8:56 p.m. Aug. 29. He had an empty bottle of whiskey on the floor of his SUV and his blood alcohol content was 0.15.
25A man was arrested for drunken driving, first offense, after he turned left in a no-left turn area in the 2300 block of North 67th Street at 1:19 a.m. Aug. 31. The man first said he had one beer, changed it to two later and at the end of his arrest, admitted to having one mixed drink, one beer and one shot. His BAC was 0.14.
26A man was arrested for drunken driving, first offense, after he was called in for being passed out behind the wheel of his car in the Mayfair Mall parking lot, 2500 N. Mayfair Road, at 2:19 a.m. Sept. 1. When asked where he was, he said he was in Las Vegas celebrating with his wife. His BAC was 0.19 and he couldn't remember how he ended up at Mayfair.
27A woman was taken to Froedert Hospital for back pain after the car she was driving was rear-ended by a man driving an SUV in the 6800 block of West North Avenue at 4:34 p.m. Aug. 29. The man said that the light turned green and the woman didn't start driving forward so he accidentally hit her.
28A man was arrested after arguing with employees of Sketchers at Mayfair, 2500 N. Mayfair Road, at 12:18 p.m. Aug. 30. He threatened to fight them after what he thought was bad customer service and cursed at employees and customers before being arrested in the parking lot by a Homeland Security agent who was at the mall on other business.
· Police responded to at least one domestic disturbance this week.
