Stoplights on Mayfair Road developing timing patterns
Issue: A reader wants to know if the stoplights at the intersections of Mayfair Road and North Avenue and Mayfair Road and Burleigh were re-timed after the construction on Mayfair Road. She said the wait time seems to be much longer.
Status: Bill Wehrley, city engineer, told me that the Department of Transportation is still tweaking the timing.
He said the lights are now on an adaptive system that takes readings from the pavement and makes real-time decisions on timing. He explained that the system is building data now and will tweak the timing as it develops more data.
