Mystery of police car outside fire station explained
Issue: Several readers have noticed that there often is a police car parked outside Fire Station No. 1, located in the Village, and they are curious as to why this is.
Status: Lori Murphy, fire education coordinator, said it is simply because the Police Department has an auxiliary office at this fire station. The department uses auxiliary offices in strategic locations in the city so officers can remain distributed throughout the area instead of all having to repeatedly travel to and from the same station.
