Nearly 100 artists set for Firefly Art Fair
The Wauwatosa Historical Society is hosting the Firefly Art Fair from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 4 and Aug. 5 at the Kneeland-Walker House, 7406 Hillcrest Drive.

The Wauwatosa Public Library, 7635 W. North Ave., is hosting Movement to Music from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 7 at the library.
This program is recommended for ages six and older.
Hear stories of America at the Wauwatosa library
The Wauwatosa Public Library, 7635 W. North Ave., is hosting Follow Your Dreams to America at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 8 at the library.
Children in second grade and older will hear stories about coming to America and can map the journey of how and why someone in their family came to America.
Party on the deck for Hoyt Park and Pool
The annual Friends of Hoyt Park and Pool fundraiser featuring a party on the deck is from 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 11.
The cost is $25 per person. The pool will not be open, but there will be food, music and a silent auction.

Women welcome at Firefly Real Estate's Diva Night
Ladies are invited to participate in an evening filled with shopping throughout the Village of Wauwatosa during Diva Night. Sponsored by Firefly Real Estate the event is slated for 5 to 9 p.m. Aug. 8.
Visit any eight of the participating shops to receive a special stamp on a punch card. Then drop your completed punch card at Vino 100, 1442 Underwood Ave., by 9:10 p.m. to qualify for the free drawing.

Programs to explore darkness and nightmares
The Wauwatosa Public Library, 7635 W. North Ave., is hosting two programs Aug. 15 that explore darkness and then nightmares.
"Afraid of the Dark" at 10 a.m. includes stories and activities for children ages kindergarten to second grade to help them appreciate the evening darkness. During "Nightmares!," at 1:30 p.m., children in third grade and up can hear about nightmares and tell their scariest dream and check out scary books.
Randy L. Otto to portray Churchill at senior center
Randy L. Otto will portray Winston Churchill during an event slated for 1 p.m. Aug. 15 at the Hart Park Senior Center, 7300 Chestnut St.
Refreshments will be served. The cost is $7.50 for members and $14.50 for nonmembers.
Journal Sentinel hosts Feast with the Beasts at the zoo
The Milwaukee County Zoo invites visitors to eat with the elephants and have a treat with the tamarins at this year's Milwaukee Journal Sentinel A La Carte Feast with the Beasts, which runs Aug. 16 through 19 and features local and national entertainment performing throughout the zoo and 28 restaurants selling food.
Admission for the 2012 A La Carte is $14.25 for adults, $11.25 for kids 3 through 12, $13.25 for senior citizens and free for kids 2 and younger. All musical entertainment is free with regular admission, while food tickets and Zoo rides and special attractions are offered at an additional charge.

Family Fun Night features showing of 'Rio'
The public is welcome to join the Friends of Hart Park for a viewing of the animated film "Rio" at the second annual Family Film Night Aug. 22 at the Hart Park Rotary Stage, 7300 Chestnut St.
People can gather at 6:45 p.m. and the film starts at 7:45 p.m.
"Rio" is a comedy-adventure that centers on Blu, a domesticated macaw from small-town Minnesota, who meets the fiercely independent Jewel. Unexpectedly thrown together, they embark on an adventure of a lifetime to Rio de Janeiro.
The Milwaukee Hot Dog Company will be selling hot dogs, chips, candy and soda. Gilles Frozen Custard will be selling frozen custard and custard treats before and during the movie.
Spiritual readings offered at Hart Park Senior Center
Barbara Kruck will give intuitive readings beginning at 1 p.m. Aug. 30 at Hart Park Senior Center, 7300 Chestnut Drive.
Kruck will offer spiritual guidance through tarot and animal totem readings. She is a life coach who has studied Native American philosophies and the animal totems.
Register in the senior center office.
The cost per reading is $27 for members and $29 for nonmembers.
