Julia Shirey of Wauwatosa earned her bachelor's degree in apparel merchandising and design from Dominican University in River Forest, Ill., in May.

The following graduates from Wauwatosa earned degrees from Mount Mary College in Milwaukee in May: Angela Powzukiewicz-Abplanalp, bachelor's degree in nursing, cum laude; Landa Evers and Angela Peters, master's degrees in school counseling; Dylan McClain and Michelle Rismeyer, master's degrees in art therapy; Stephanie Gagliano, bachelor's in chemistry-health sciences; and Lynne Hartmann, bachelor's in communication and Spanish.

The following students from Wauwatosa made the spring semester dean's and president's lists at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design: Rebecca Ahlf, Joshua Ballew, Emily DeBord, Brittany Diamond, Andrew Langer, Courtney Morgan, Lucas Ruminski, Stephen Strupp, Megan Watling and Alexandra Wong.

The following students from Wauwatosa made the spring semester honors lists at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point: David Boardman, Chelsea Colebourne, Jessica Croft, Joseph Gorzek, Emily Hoffmann, Samantha Jurkowski, Kelly Layde, Carly Schulz, Emily Serena, Hayley Templar, Melissa Thielen and Julia Weinberg.

Sofia Walz-Chojnacki of Wauwatosa graduated from Partners in Policymaking, a new leadership program from the Wisconsin Board for People with Developmental Disabilities. The program prepares self-advocates and family members of people with disabilities to work on policies and initiatives supporting participation and inclusion of people with disabilities in all aspects of life.
