Patricia "Patti" Clare Wood Midtling, formerly of Wauwatosa, died May 23, 2009, at age 53.

She was born in Fort Chaffee, Ark., on April 14, 1956, and grew up in Wauwatosa. She graduated from Wauwatosa West High School in 1974. She attended the University of Minnesota, graduating from the Carlson School of Management in 1978.

She enjoyed family celebrations, traveling with her family, attending Bible study, watching her daughters dance, taking care of her children and pets, and many other things. Her strength and courage were inspirational. She will be remembered for her selfless spirit. There was no obstacle Patti did not face without a positive attitude and open mind.

She is survived by her husband, James; sons, Mathew and Christopher; daughters, Jennifer, Stephanie, Micaela and Olivia; parents, Bill and Peggy Wood; sisters, Diane (Jim Dooley) of Wauwatosa, Sarah (Jeff Trost) of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Kathy (Jeff Jokisch) of Wauwatosa; brother, James (Missy) Wood of Little Canada, Minn.; 16 nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

The funeral service was June 1 at Easter Lutheran Church on the Hill, Eagan.

Memorials are suggested to the MD Anderson Memorial Foundation or Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance.

White Funeral Home Apple Valley handled the arrangements.
