Donald Joseph Fenzl

Donald Joseph Fenzl died Dec. 30, 2008, at age 82.

He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and from UW-Madison with a master's degree. He worked in Fond du Lac, Wauwatosa and Brookfield public schools, and retired as a principal after 34 years in education. He was a member of several professional and educational organizations.

After 32 years in the Naval Reserve, he retired as a lieutenant commander. He was a member of Reserve Officers Association, Military Officers Association of America, Naval Reserve Association, Navy Mustang Association and Retired Activities Office.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Maxine (nee Gilbertson); children, David (Carol) Fenzl, Steven Fenzl and Kathryn (Richard) Voigt; grandchildren, Bryan (Heather) Fenzl and Kathryn (Dean) Mack; great-grandchild, Tyler Joseph Mack; siblings, Max W. Fenzl and Germaine (William) Schaefer; sister-in-law, Carol Arff; other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Jan. 6 at Christ King Catholic Church, Wauwatosa. Entombment was at Wisconsin Memorial Park.

Memorials are suggested to Christ King or Luther Manor.

Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral and Cremation Services handled the arrangements.
