Root-Lloyd

Abby Root and Ryan Lloyd of Minneapolis were married July 15, 2011, in the Minneapolis area.

Parents of the bride are Steve and Terri Root of Plymouth, Minn. The groom's parents are David and Maureen Lloyd of Wauwatosa.

The Rev. Valerie Strand Patterson officiated the 5 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a reception at the Bayview Event Center on Lake Minnetonka in Minnesota.

Abby Root of Minneapolis, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were April Welch, college friend; Jordan Bierschenk, Jackie Henry and Cailin Johnson, high school friends; Nicole Root, sister-in-law; and Emily Windos, cousin.

Dan Lloyd of Columbia, Mo., brother of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Nick Dooley, Dan Lynch, Dan Licher and Jon Snodgrass, Wauwatosa East High School friends; Andy Root, brother-in-law; and Jeff Schaefer, college friend.

Ushers were Nick Vannuccci and Jake Barager, high school friends.

The bride earned her degree in education from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. She is a first-grade teacher in Minneapolis.

The groom earned his degree in business/marketing from UW-Eau Claire. He is a partner in the Milwaukee Pedal Tavern.

The couple planned a 10-day honeymoon in St. Maarten.

The groom proposed to the bride in her classroom dressed as a delivery man. Her students attended the wedding.
