Butterflies add color to zoo's offerings
The "Butterflies: In Living Color" exhibit is being featured at the Milwaukee County Zoo through Sept. 25.
More than 500 native American butterflies can be found fluttering and floating in a tropical greenhouse setting. Visitors can enjoy the sight of painted ladies, cloudless sulphurs, zebra longwings and giant swallowtails while walking winding pathways lined with lush foliage.
Head to the Otto Borchert Family Special Exhibits Building. Admission to the special exhibit is $2 per person.
If you want the butterflies to land on you, wear bright colors such as red, yellow, orange, pink or purple.
Mid-week farmers market held at Hartung Park
Hartung Park Farmers Market offers fruits, vegetables, flowers and fresh eggs from five farmers from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays.
Stop by to buy fresh produce, listen to live entertainment and socialize with neighbors at the park, along Menomonee River Parkway and Argonne Drive.
Program will show Wauwatosa's got talent
Kids can show off their talents from singing and dancing to magic tricks and storytelling at 6:30 p.m. July 21 at the Wauwatosa Public Library, 7365 W. North Ave.
Applications to participate in the talent show are due July 16.

Rock hits to fill the air during Wisconsin Lutheran concert
Bobby Way and the Wayouts will rock the Summer Arts in the Park concert series at 6:30 p.m. July 21 at Wisconsin Lutheran College.
The group performs rock 'n' roll hits from 1950s to today.
All performances are free, and food and beverages are sold beginning at 5 p.m. No alcohol will be permitted.
Concerts are held outdoors on the campus courtyard located between Bluemound Road and Wisconsin Avenue at 89th Street. Bring a lawn chair or blanket. In the case of rain, the performance will be moved indoors.
Tour to showcase six local gardens, raise scholarship funds
Three garden clubs are teaming up to organize Tour Le Jardin, a tour of six area gardens from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 23.
Elm Grove, Elmbrook and Mayfair Park garden clubs are joining together to raise money for student scholarships and community gardening projects.
Tickets can be purchased in advance for $7 at the following Elm Grove businesses: Welke's House of Roses, 1020 Legion Drive; Great Harvest Bread Co., 13404 Watertown Plank Road; and at the Village Flower Shop, 13458 Watertown Plank Road. Tickets are also available at these businesses the day of the walk for $10.
For the first time, 20 local vendors and nonprofit groups will sell products in the parking lot of Sunset Playhouse, 800 Elm Grove Road.

Latin dance lessons to get Tosa kids in step
Salsa, tango and ballroom will be among the dance styles performed by Bailando Latin Dance Company at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. July 25 at the Civic Center auditorium in City Hall, 7725 W. North Ave.
Professional and student dancers will demonstrate dances of Latin and South America, then a dance lesson will be offered. The program is most appropriate for children ages 5 to 12.

Simon says: Bring the family to Hoyt Park to play
The Milwaukee Metropolitan YMCA is encouraging families to Play in the Parks with a new free program that will come to Hoyt Park, 1800 Swan Blvd., from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays July 25 through Aug. 22.
Classic outdoor games such as kickball, Simon Says and Red Light, Green Light will be organized. The program is meant to provide physical activity and promote recreation in the Milwaukee County Parks.
Children must be chaperoned by an adult to participate.
