City of Wauwatosa police officer Dan Kane talks on his radio after a female motorist hit a utility support cable at the intersection of Wells and 70th streets around noon Wednesday. Kane was standing in the open door of his parked squad car at the time of the crash. Referring to the cable, Kane said of the crash, "If she had not hit that I'd be dead."
