From noon to 5pm on Sunday, March 14 the Mitchell Park Domes will transform into a little slice of the Emerald Isle, offering fun, games and entertainment for the whole family. The Glencastle Irish Dancers will perform at 12:30pm, 1:30pm, 2:30pm and 3:30pm. Live Irish Harp music will be performed in the Arid Dome by Dorothy Walsh at 12:30pm & 1:30pm, and then Mary Ann Miller will play at 2:30pm & 3:30pm. "Blarney" will perform in the show dome at noon, 1pm, 2pm then the Irish Fest School of Music will perform at 3pm and 4pm. This will be the fourth annual event of its kind at the Domes. The Domes will host its final "Music Under Glass" concert for the season on Thursday, March 18 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. As a special thank you to all its sponsors, the Domes is hosting a beach party with contests and prizes. Attendees who wear their most colorful beach attire will receive $1 off admission. Would you like to learn to hula or win the limbo contest? Children can have fun building sandcastles. A light show will follow the musical Reggae perfomance by "King Solomon." With all the warm weather and sunshine upon us, and spring in the air, it's time to golf. The front-9 at Grant and Currie Park Golf Courses are already open and Lincoln, Greenfield (front 9), Oakwood, Hansen, Warnimont, and Dretzka will open on Wed., March 17. The front -9 at Whitnall is scheduled to open on Thursday. For a limited time, all golfers will pay the lowest posted fee. Hurray! The 38th Annual 2010 W.I.M. Skating Competition sponsored by the Greater Milwaukee Figure Skating Club is scheduled to take place at the Wilson Park Recreation Center, 4001 S. 20th Street on Thursday, March 25 – March 28. This event is sanctioned by United States Figure Skating. The events will begin on Friday morning and practice ice will begin on Thursday late afternoon. The following ladies and men’s events will include free skate, short program, Championship Events, Compulsory Moves, Test Track, Spins and Jumps. Mirror, mirror on the wall, what Milwaukee park location site has the most beautiful gardens of all? Come to the Boerner Botanical Gardens on Friday, June 11 from 6-9pm and see for yourself. On this date the gardens will be in full bloom for this annual fundraising event, with live music by Cream City Jazz, food and drink by Bartolotta Catering, a silent auction and entertaining "green" demonstrations. The Mitchell Park Domes, 524 S. Layton Boulevard, invites visitors to its spring floral show, “Jung at Heart” that opened on March 27 and will run through Sunday, June 6. The Domes are open weekdays from 9am to 5pm and during the weekends from 9am – 4pm. Adult admission is $6.50, children ages 6-17 are $5 and children five and under enter free.
