Where Do We Start?

We'll start at the very beginning, like Maria Von Trapp did.

February kicked off with another sixth grade basketball tournament at St. Bernard Parish School in Wauwatosa!  It has come to be known as Bernie's Tourney.  So, local celebrity, Tom Pipines was spotted, certainly so he could report back on the nightly newscast.  We're sure of it!

The four day, 16-team event was a blast.  St. Bernard humbly thanks the 2010 business sponsors:  Bunzels' Meat Market and Catering, Bluemound Child Care, Divine Savior Holy Angels High School, Fiduciary Management: Pat English, Paul's Automotive (on 92nd and Center), Waterstone Bank, Marquette High School, Ikon Office Solutions, Catholic Memorial High School, Pius XI High School, Wells Fargo Financial Advisor:  Mark Heinen, THE Chancery, COLONEL Harts, Leffler Cleaning, Mike Brophy Painting, Vince Ingrilli Plumbing (VIP).

February continued when the 5th grade boys' basketball team (Bernards'/Pius X), coached by Jim Jones, took their second tournament championship by winning FIRST place at St. Margaret Mary's Tournament in Milwaukee!  Way to go Coach Jones and boys!  Awesome!

March began with the K4 through 3rd grade students celebrating Dr. Seuss' birtday.  Students played a balancing game, made Cat in the Hat hats, listened to stories, and ate cake!

Lenten Outreach continues during each school week during Lent.  Tuesday, March 9th:  Shelter the Homeless & Tuesday, March 16th:  Visit the Sick  (Students will make Easter cards for homebound parishioners.)

Pancake Breakfast!  'Tis the season for some flapjacks!  Home and School proudly sponsors the annual PANCAKE BREAKFAST on Sunday, March 21st at 8:30 a.m..  This family-friendly event runs until noon.  Adults eat for $6.50, Kids 4-12 pay only $4.50, Kids 3 and UNDER are FREE.  St. Bernard welcomes one and all to this fundraiser that packs in the FUN!  The menu includes:  eggs, sausage, applesauce, coffee and juice, and, of course, all-you-can-eat pancakes!  Come one! Come all!  Event location:  Griffey Center (below the church)
