Music player lost in the shuffle at gym
I have no right to complain. As a matter of fact some people who read this will think I'm whining.
I am. Because I lost my tiny blue Shuffle at the gym the other day. Oddly, the headphones I did not lose.
So where is it? Underneath a treadmill? Stuck in one of the lockers? Behind the stairclimber? Or, maybe... it is in one of those cupholders on the elliptical. Hmmm... no one has found it yet' - so they say. Then again maybe someone has.
Right this very second, some strange exercise buff could be listening to MY music. Right now, "10,000 Miles" by Mary Chapin Carpenter could be playing on "Chica" without my permission. This person is finding out that this song is VERY sad indeed. They will probably feel sad about having my Shuffle I'm thinking. So, then they'll really like the Eagles "Try and Love Again" if they are in a melancholy state of mind. More tragically sad songs are coming: "And You and I" by Yes, "The Big Mistake" by Carrie Rodriguez, and "Wonderwall" by Oasis.
But hey, don't assume I'm all doom and gloom! My music covers the gamut... I don't just have sad songs on my Shuffle, are you kidding? I would never run if that were the case. I've got Michael Buble, Josh Rouse, Led Zeppelin, ABBA, Earth, Wind and Fire, Neko Case, the Weepies (ironically enough), Sheryl Crowe, Fleetwood Mac, Heart and a whole lotta fun stuff, really guaranteed to get even the most depressed human being smiling through spin class.
I know whoever has my Shuffle is one lucky soul. Over $100 worth of music for free, not to mention the Shuffle itself .... and all that for the price of a gym membership. We should all get one when we join the gym, don't ya think?
