Gas Pains
Tom grew up in Milwaukee, bartended in Wauwatosa in the '70s and moved here in 1984.
Commentary, observations and musings about the outdoors, life in general and maybe Tosa politics and personalities will be the order of the day. He savors a lively debate as much as terrific cooking.
The Runt of the Litter
It has been an interesting week - and speaking for myself I am eternally grateful for the approaching end of the 24/7 coverage of the royals. The royal wedding, the queen, Lady Diana, the giant crazy hats, Billy and Kate and the wedding gown. Sheesh. For gosh sakes they've been flatmates for years. It's about time that fella made an honest woman of her.
Over the years my pal Braumeister and I have discussed this nonsense of the royal family at length and our conclusion is that we kicked King George and his family out of this country more than 200 years ago for good reason.
Friday Morning Music
More awesome guitar work.
And start your weekend with some sultry vocals from Alison Krauss...
The Garden Chronicles
Less than three weeks ago there was four inches of snow on the ground and it had been raining incessantly. The month of April posted record amounts of precipitation on the the Door Peninsula.
It has finally dried-out sufficiently to begin prepping the garden.
Random Musings and Idle Chit Chat
Just last week we celebrated an important anniversary in America's exploration of outer space. On May 5th, 1961 - Alan Shepard was the first American in space.

Friday Morning Music
Start your weekend with an awesome cover of a classic Patsy Cline tune by Madeleine Peyroux.
No video just the tune...
The Garden Chronicles
This has singularly been the latest spring arrival in recent memory. The consequence of this is that weather conditions for turkey hunting have been appalling. Snow, rain and high winds. Nevertheless, I shot a gobbler and Lawyer and Sid each killed a jake. Only Braumeister got skunked.
Both Sister and Girlfriend have been taking long walks afield each day - with Sister off-lead. She's been soaking-up the outdoors and learning basic verbal commands. The trouble has been all of the water and mud everywhere results in a couple of very dirty dogs.
A Hot, Dusty, Lonely, Job
Ordinarily if you hear the term afterburner - what might come to mind is a fuel guzzling kick-start to a fighter jet.
Crematoriums also use an afterburner in order to provide a nice clean EPA-approved burn.
Friday Morning Music
It's the start of the weekend.
And no better way to begin than with some Ray LaMontagne...
Chick Magnet
I have dog duty tonight while Jill has some welcome RR with her girlfriends.
I got to stay home with Girlfriend and Sister.
Walk in the Woods
How many of you remember the fight to save the County Grounds?
How many of you recall when the state purchased land from Milwaukee County to preserve and protect it from development?
If Only The Dead Could Talk
Today is Memorial Day.
The day we honor and remember those who have given the last full measure of devotion by sacrificing their lives in service to our country.
