Doug has been a Tosa resident for over 20 years and loves his Olde Hillcrest neighborhood. He enjoys reading, riding his Harley and making his wonderful wife and three kids laugh.
Whether you are voting Democratic, Republican or Other on Election Day, here is a chance to feel even better about your trip to the polls. Before you leave the house on Tuesday, take a quick look through your pantry and grab a non-perishable food item to take with you. The Wauwatosa West Key Club is sponsoring a food drive to benefit Tosa Cares Food Pantry and the Wauwatosa Food Pantry. There will be bins designated for your contribution.
Some of you readers (and fellow bloggers) might draw a parallel between a food drive and the choices we make on Tuesday. After all, some of us can afford to give away some of the food we bought with our hard earned money and some of us might actually benefit from a food donation. The fact is, there are people in Wauwatosa who could use the help this holiday season, so if you can, vote early and often and don't forget a can or two of something.
Had a wonderful time Wednesday night watching the Wauwatosa East orchestra perform their Fall Showcase concert. What a treat to see such talent and dedication. Unfortunately I was distracted by a number of the musicians who were chewing gum (not discreetly, but rather enthusiastically). Keep in mind this is classical music, in a church setting, with the students dressed in "concert black"- long dresses for the ladies, ties and coats for the gents.
At our house after the concert I asked my violinist daughter about the gum thing. She thought no big deal.
