Choices - NOT!! - Part II
Now that it is being reported that Time/Warner Cable is adding NBA TV to basic Digital cable package (really - there are more NBA fans than BTN and NFLN fans??), Why can't they just add the BTN and the NFLN channels to the same basic Digital channel package.?? Why are the consumers not able to have choices?? This why we need competition in the cable TV choices available to us, this is where AT+T u-verse comes in and will give consumers more choices in channels and at lesser cost to the consumer.
Now to be fair, part of the problem is that the BTN and the NFLN has moved games to their channels that used to be available on free TV in the home team's market!! However, by adding the these networks the consumer is able to see games that are out of market that they would not be able to otherwise see. See CHOICES!! If you are a Michigan fan living in the Tosa area, with the BTN channel you are able to see more Michigan games than you normally would.
Now more on AT+T u-verse service. With the state wide cable bill that has been introduced in Madison (mostly written by AT+T lobbyists) the local cities will not be able to charge cable franchises on the local level for franchise fees!! But also remember that AT+T is a utility company and is not subject to those charges anyways under the FCC ruling opening up phone, internet and cable to competition!!
It is time for Time/Warner cable to add these choices for the comsumers!!
