Tom grew up in Milwaukee, bartended in Wauwatosa in the '70s and moved here in 1984.
Commentary, observations and musings about the outdoors, life in general and maybe Tosa politics and personalities will be the order of the day. He savors a lively debate as much as terrific cooking.
Before some of you get your hopes up I have no immediate plans to checkout of this earthly realm anytime soon. I do have a bucket list of sorts that I've been working on. It isn't clearly defined so it changes frequently and both increases and shrinks with time. But like I said I've made some progress.
For instance, I went to Europe to retrace my late father's footsteps during World War II as he fought his way across northern France. I killed a black bear with only a bow way back in the bush of northwest Ontario. Remarkably, I have become the internet authority on how to make crispy, crunchy, sweet pickles. Just like the 38 pints I put-up yesterday.
But don't take my word for it. All you have to do is peruse the Most Popular section located in the lower right-hand corner of the WauwatosaNOW homepage. Google it too. With their search engine optimization wizardry you would not believe how much The Mothership is now paying me for all of the traffic that comes here to learn about pickle-making. I shall retire earlier than planned.
Last weekend was Schuetzenfest 2013 - a celebration (among other things) of camaraderie, testosterone, firearms and barbecue. If you promise not to tell Rand Paul I'll even let you in on a secret. We flew a secret drone aircraft to test its video spy capability. It is very cool. Once it gets to operational altitude you cannot even see it.
But it can see you...
I'd be willing to bet that a nice, quiet, pilotless drone aircraft can make some people even crazier than their current state of paranoia if they are allowed to fester over the possibility.
I further digress.
I checked another item off of the bucket list. I'll work further on my technique as soon as 9mm Parabellum is available at an affordable price.
I fired a submachine gun...
