Tom grew up in Milwaukee, bartended in Wauwatosa in the '70s and moved here in 1984.
Commentary, observations and musings about the outdoors, life in general and maybe Tosa politics and personalities will be the order of the day. He savors a lively debate as much as terrific cooking.

How to Make Rhubarb Strawberry Jam
Sure, I know you're probably asking yourself - He's got it backward. Shouldn't it be strawberry rhubarb? You never hear of rhubarb strawberry pie? It's always strawberry rhubarb pie.

Quite Possibly The Perfect Magazine
As I was taking my recycling cart to the curb recently it occured to me that it was largely full of expired gardening journals, newspaper food sections, bowhunting, turkey hunting, pheasant hunting, NRA magazines, and Wisconsin Outdoor News. Birds of a Feather
Our house finch nest is tight quarters now that everyone has hatched.

Affordable Care Act Upheld - Heads Explode
I admit that I was surprised to learn that the Supreme Court of the United States upheld most of the Affordable Care Act today. If you'd have asked me yesterday what the odds were of that happening I'd have suggested slim to none.
The messaging has now commenced and GOP heads are exploding over THE TAX.
