2012~Good Transitions
ALL COMMITTEE NIGHT: A 2012 New Transition This past year St. Bernard parishioners experienced a wealth of transitions – the start of our parish’s second century, a new pastor, new responses at Mass, new school, new parish members and the return of former members. Now that we’re all getting comfy with these 2011 transitions, the St. Bernard Parish committees will begin – All Committee Night! Starting January 25, 2012, and on the 4th Wednesday of each month, all the parish committees – Human Concerns, Prayer & Worship, Stewardship, Finance, Christian Formation (formerly Lifelong Faith Formation) and Building & Grounds -- will meet for fellowship at 6:15pm in the Griffey Center and then at 7pm breakout into separate meeting spaces. The goal of the St. Bernard All Committee Night is to more effectively use everyone’s time, energy and resources; to grow new membership and to encourage cooperation, communication, ride sharing and fellowship. This All Committee Night model has worked well in other parishes saving janitorial, security and electrical resources. We are excited to initiate it at St. Bernard. Watch the bulletin,
The Messenger and our website for
additional information. And send a prayer or two for successful
transitions into 2012.

Pat Brophy, Chair, Parish Council
